So my guy and I recently (about a year ago) Up graded from a 04 grand am to a 2007 Chevy Trailblazer thinking that our family of 4 was complete. Well come to find out we have another little one on the way. So now we are basically stuck with out trailblazer we are so upside down in it. Now I need to figure out is there anyway to fit 3 car seats (2 forward facing carseats, not boosters and 1 rear faceing) in our 1 row of rear seats. I would if at all possible love to stay away from the Radian (I think thats what they are called) I realize they are the skinniest but they are super expensive and right now if at all possible we need to stay as more toward the cheaper side of life as possible. Hoping to find other moms who maybe have the same sitution?

I have a blazer and what we did was put the infant seat in the middle and then when the baby grew out of her seat we put the older child in a booster and the youngest on in a convertable seat. Good luck and congratulations! And we had 3 children then when the youngest was 9 found out that we were pg again! Holy cow!! She is now 4 and the 10 year old is 14 so you can do it !!!

Well, I have 3 car seats in my Trailblazer now. I currently have 2 Recaros and 1 Britax Marathon in my seat and they all fit fine. My one word of advice is to install all 3 car seats before tightening them down. As you tighten them, they will all nest and snug together. I have found that if you start with the first one and install completely, then it tends to be like a puzzle with pieces that don't fit. Hope that helps you and good luck!

The only car seat I recomend is the Safegaurd Go Booster. I have one for my 4 year old and am going to purchase one for my 2 year old next month. The age requirement is min 1 year old. It takes up no more room than your seat in your car. The bonus is that it has a 5 point harness that fits up to 6 years old or 60 pounds. It is the ONLY booster rated for safety by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. They run about $150.00 (just checked and they are on sale for 129.99!!). THe fact that they can use them literally for years and they are SAFE, they are worth the money. Below is the website I purchased mine from as well as the NHTSA website. I highly recommend parents check their car seat ratings before purchasing!

I was faced with the same situation 3 years ago, but had a Nissan Maxima. I had 2 regular carseats and had to add an infant carrier. It may be very snug, but I think they will fit. Your car is a little wider than what we had, but one way to be sure might be to find a seat you can borrow for a few minutes. Maybe a friend or a local store would be willing to let you borrow one to check the space allowance.

Hang in there!

Go to Babies R us and try them all out - the other thing is to see if your 2 1/2 year old is ready for a boaster seat - I'm not sure if she is.

Hey L.! So I recently had the same issue, when I took on watching two little boys, one being an infant. I have a Honda CRV and had to fit 3 across the back, with two forward and one rear facing. So the kids parents bought me this rear facing seat that can turn into a forward facing seat, and it is only 17" across, and it all fits perfectly! The seat is called the "Radian65" It is made by Sunshine Kids Juvenile Products. their website is: www.skjp.com. Good luck to you!

Talk to the car manufacture to see if they can add another car seat.

I am currently in your situation. I have a 3.5 year old, a 2 year old, and a 1 year old, and right now I have them all in a row in my Jeep Cherokee. My youngest is still in a rear facing car seat and she is in the middle. It's a tight fit, but it works. Two of my carseats are from Graco and I'm not sure what the other brand is. Anyway, good luck. Three under 3 will definitely keep you busy. :)
