Let them decorate cookies. My girls always loved doing this. You can get small pumpkins and use markers and let them draw faces on the pumpkins. Get paper bags and let them decorate a trick or treat bag. Google Halloween parties for little ones. You should be able to get all the ideas you need and more.

Pumpkin Painting is fun, if you don't mind the mess. Get each child one of the small pumpkins, set out paints and brushes and let them have fun. They will like having a party favor that they made to take home!

Sure, make pumpkin cookies or buy them and let the kids decorate them. I too do cookie decorating at Hallowen and Christmas parties. You can also get mini pumpkins and let them paint them. That is there goody go homes.

How about paper bag puppets? I have seen kits at WalMart and at craft stores, or I'm sure you could get them on-line. Or if you are more creative and artistically inclined than I am, you could draw/cut up the puppet pieces yourself on construction paper. Anything with animals could be considered within the broad scope of the Halloween theme. Or Ghosts would be pretty easy to do yourself with just white heavy/constuction paper. So would pumpkins/jack-o-lanterns. And spiders would be fun if you could draw up a pretty good one. Then just cut them in half in the general mouth area and ta-da! Ready to glue on a lunch bag size paper bag. My daughter is turning 2 on Monday and I think she could manage to assemble one with a little help from Mommy and a glue stick. And I know she would love playing with the puppet after it was done. Also, maybe you could make paper hats and/or crowns that they could decorate with stickers or fun foam pieces. Then they could put them on and play Indians or Princess! Good luck!

I did the pumpkin painting for my daughter's 2nd birthday and the kids loved it. It's a little messy but parents can help.

An idea for next year is to take pumpkin seeds and have the kids help plant them in dirt (in some kind of pot). Take the kids inside for a little while, have someone go out and put little pumkins in the dirt where the seeds were planted and have them come out to see how the pumpkins "grew."
