2Nd Pregnancy Really Hitting Hard

This is my second pregnancy. With my first one it took awhile to really feel the sickness, tiredness, ect. With this one I am not sick I am just REALLY TIRED, my boobs are killing me, I feel like I am already gainning weight and I am only 7 weeks. I know it is not in my head cause I am really trying hard not to let all this affect me. My husband is wondering why I am already acting different when I am just 7 weeks. WHat I am getting at is was this you all of you where with you 2nd pregnancy or am I just loosing it? Thank you

What can I do next?

So What Happened?™

THank you for all the support you guys are great. I am starting to feel better. My hubby and I had a little talk about things so hopefully everything will be fine. Thanks again

All mothers and pregnancies are different but for me the second definitely was a lot harder even though my boys are REALLY spaced out. I started with my morning sickness a lot earlier in fact I didn't even know I was pregnant until I got sick at 6 wks and my breasts were very tender and was very cranky and tired.

I felt the baby move soon but didn't start really showing until almost 6 months but that could of been because I was a lot heavier than I was w/my first and I gained less w/the second compared to the first 48 pounds.

Good Luck and hopefully you will have a great pregnancy. Congrats.

No pregnancy is ever the same as another, even with the same person. Your body will go into overdrive because it remembers many of the things it did the first time. Yes, you will gain weight faster. Tiredness starts early. You may be more or less sick this time. You just never know. It is not in your head!!!

Hubby needs to get over it... it's pregnancy, one of the most miraculous and mysterious things that can happen to a woman (not a man)! I can go on and on about the lists of things I don't understand about men, but, as we all do, I love my husband and, as a woman, I am a bit more understanding than the male gender.

You are just fine. You have about 7 more weeks of ups and downs before it settles out, hopefully! I am at week 27 today, myself. It's all going to be just fine. Take some time to relax and be careful with yourself.

*hugs*

Every pregnancy is different- some VERY different! With my first, I had been very fit, but I swear w/in three weeks of conception I was exhausted & could not exercise without the greatest fatigue throughout the entire pregnancy. I gained tons of water weight at the end & 45 lbs. total (I'm only 4'10"!!!).

With my second, I gained 45 lbs., too, but it was not the same as my first- no real swelling & I taught aerobics & yoga STARTING in my last trimester b/c I was taking over some class for a friend. I continued to teach aerobics until the last 3 weeks or so, & yoga a week more. Nevertheless, I was shot AFTER class, taking 2-3 hour naps in the afternoon. My then 3 year old FINALLY learned to play by herself during that time.

So, you're not losing it. Your body just reacts differently with each child, and you just have to roll w/ it!

Congrats!

I've heard that with subsequent pregnancies that you feel the effects sooner. I guess because your body has already been through it before, so it knows what to do, and just gets on the ball! I'm pretty sure it's normal... and every pregnancy is different. Congratulations, and I hope you feel a little more normal during your second trimester!

No it's not just you, I am 6 wks right now with my second child and last week all I did was sleep, I've been extremely tired and feel like I look like im 4 months pregnant. Im nauseous all the time too and I was never sick or this tired with my first one and I didn't even start showing until I was 5 months pregnant. Totally different with this one. Good luck on your pregnancy and congratulations

With the second preganancy, you will feel everything eariler and show eariler. With my second (I got pregant when my first was 9 months) I showed at 8 weeks, needing maternity pants then compared to 12 weeks with my first. Plus with chasing around the first child, I felt more tired. My morning sickness was worse with #2 than #1...to the point I had to get a $50.00 prescription to ease it! The good news is you will most likely FEEL the baby earlier than you did with your first. :-).

Congrats...

Hi R.,

This is my second pregnancy and it is hitting me harder than I could have imagined!! You are not alone, trust me! With my daughter, I didn't have a single bout of morning sickness. I was tired quite a bit in the first trimester but that was it. With this pregnancy, I started morning sickness in my fifth week and it has been full force ever since then, only letting up for a few days during the past 6 weeks.

It's okay if you're gaining weight right now, your body is going through a lot of changes. Hang in there and hopefully the second trimester will be better for us both!!

I think second pregnancies are harder on a lot of moms. Mine was. Keeping up with your first child can be tiring - and couple that with being pregnant and it's tough. And, the first trimester you may be more tired than usual. Good luck!
