Hi Everyone,I have 2 questions:
Does anyone know where I could find a "Holiday" Bingo game for a 2nd Grade 'Holiday' Party?
Also, does anyone have any good activity/craft/game ideas for the party? It is in a public school, so we cannot only represent Christmas. So far I have thought of Bingo (obviously),making Holiday-themed cards for parents, and an assemble-yourself snowman wreath. I would love to get some more/better ideas if anyone has some. Thanks!

What can I do next?

I love arts & scraps. It is a non profit organization and you can order kits already pre assembled with holiday idea from http://artsandscraps.org/. If you have never seen them most ideas are peel and stick. The only downside it they do a lot of decorating with sand. Good luck and Merry X- mas

A good craft idea would be having the kids make picture frames...using foam paper glue a picture of the child (must be taken in advance) to the center. Have the child decorate their picture frame with stickers. You could also glue magnetic strips to the back so they can be attached to the fridge. All these items can be found at most craft stores.

Hi L.,

I love to work with children and my children are 17 & 22 (go figure) I have a holiday party every year during halloween and again at Christmas. I always have a craft for them to do. I go to Micheals buy the foam shapes. The children love it. I also like to make baked goodies with them. Making a Christmas apron is a big hit. I don't knwo where to buy a non-christmas holiday bingo, but it is easy to make one yourself. Make the 'card' on a regular sheet of paper by drawing a box and then section it off using stickers that you pick. Make about 4 or 5 of them differently, then copy them onto regular paper.. You could have a relay contest of who can dress up like a snowman, it can be done in teams and athen have a parent helper tim eit. You would have to supply the costume. The craft is good, as is the cards, you could also ahve them make the cards and deliver them to a local nursing home. We always include some sort of a community service project in our classroom parties. You could also have someone start to make up a holiday poem, and go around the room, with each person adding a line of their own. Snowball relay races are fun, out of styrofoam with a spoon. It sounds like a fun party!

One of the best games I have found at Christmas time is "hot potato." take some Hershey's kisses, candy canes, whatever and wrap them up in 3-4 separate boxes. Wrap them many times, i usually do 8-9 times each in different paper for each layer.. Throw on some music. When the music stops the person holding the "present" gets to unwrap one layer. Keep going until the present is unwrapped. I make sure there are enough treats in the boxes for siblings too. And this is a great game to let siblings play too of all ages so they feel included and moms can get a break at the party for a few minutes! Hope this helps!
