My sons second birthday is coming up soon, June.
We had a curious george theme last year..
I am racking my brain to figure out a theme for this year.
I keep thinking..Mickey, Cars, Airplanes...Word World...

I want something different..

Any ideas????

What can I do next?

Go construction site! Get big plastic trucks and use them to serve chips and snacks in. Decorate the cake to look like a building site. Have lots of trucks for the little ones to push around and get plastic construction hats instead of regular party hats. Simple, easy and after you wash up your chip 'bowls' he'll have some big trucks to play with as well.

For my daughter's 2nd birthday party we had a dog theme. She LOVED dogs (still does) so that's what we went with! We didn't get too fancy with decorations. I got some things that were "The Dog" themed (those cute pictures with the dogs head HUGE haha) and had Publix make a cupcake cake in the shape of a bone with white icing. Then they had 3 plastic "The Dog" keychains they put on top. Simple, cute, and she loved it. Remembered it for the loooooongest time. She probably still remembers & she's almost 5 haha

You can theme it around anything he loves, doesn't have to be a cartoon or licensed theme.

For her 5th birthday next month we are doing Scooby Doo haha :)

For my son's 2nd birthday I did a sesame street theme, soo fun! We played "Feed Cookie Monster" a variation of pin the tail instead pinning cookies into cookie monsters mouth, Elmo freeze dance, Trash Oscar (kids threw balled up paper at a trashcan with Oscar behind it). For his third we did Thomas the Train, also a blast. Used tape to put train tracks throughout the house & a Thomas train they used to ride on it. Also had a pop up Train tent, made black bean back & had the kids throw coals into "engine", gave all kids conductor hats & bandanas, etc. Whatever you choose, have fun with it!

HI-we did monkeys. It was adorable! He loves monkeys and bugs so I just asked him which he wanted and he said monkeys so I say narrow it down to 2 and then ask him. We were just at a train one that was cute.

My son turned two this past October and I did a Backyardigans theme. He loved it (but he loves the show). I didn't overuse the characters, instead getting plain colored plates and balloons. I did get him a small stuffed Pablo to set beside the cake.

I had a farm theme for my son's 2nd birthday last year. This year will probably be a space theme. I like doing general themes vs. character specific b/c you can get away with mixing supplies. We did a big cookout - homemade BBQ, burgers, dogs, chips, cole slaw, etc. We let the kids all run around in the backyard - everyone took a turn playing on his toy tractor (even some of the big kids). I put a little hay in a wagon out front and tied some balloons to it. I also pulled out my sons toys and found quite a few farm themed items - See n Say, Fischer Price barn, etc. - I put them on tables and around the house so a lot of FREE decorations. I also bought a little tractor that plays The Farmer in the Dell and used that on his cake. Found it on clearance for less than $2 and he got an actual toy that he loves out of it! I just did a small cake w/the tractor and then did cupcakes - got the store to put green icing that looked like grass then did cut outs of farm animals taped to toothpicks on top. SIMPLE but everyone had a great time and it really did look like I spent a fortune! www.buycostumes.com has a lot of inexpensive party supplies.

Hi - I'd wait until closer to the date and see what he's interested in. June is a long way off, and kids' interests change.
