2 Year Old Preschool Programs in Aurora Area
We are planning to send our almost 2 year old son to a preschool/daycare program in the fall (he turns 2 in July). We know of one program that has preschool offerings for 2 year olds, and would love some feedback on what other options might be out there.
Thanks for your help!

So What Happened?™
Thanks so much for all the great preschool recommendations. As I suspected, there are lots of great options in this area. I think we have found the one that works best for us and will probably sign our little man up later this week. :-)

Hi - I sent my then two year old to Knox Presbyterian's Children's Day Out program in Naperville (she's three now and finishing up the program). I cannot say enough good things about it - she absolutely loves it. The teachers are wonderful and they do lots of fun projects. Most importantly it taught her a lot of independence, which she really needed -she was a really clingy child. If you want to find out about the program the number there is ###-###-####.

I live in Aurora also and my kids attend Immanuel Lutheran School in Batavia. It is located on Hart road just North of Butterfield, so it is pretty close to Aurora (if you live in the northern section). They have a 2 year old program that is called Together With Jesus that is with the parent. It is nice in that they can learn to interact with other children and do some normal preschool activities, but you are there helping him, interacting with the teacher and sometimes networking with other moms on issues and suggestions. It is with the three year old preschool teacher, so if you continue to go there for preschool, they already are comfortable with the teacher.

Hi, R..
Check out Little Blessings preschool in Naperville. It's not too far from Aurora. There is a Parents Day Out program for 2 year olds there. It is one day per week for 4 1/2 hours. I have sent all three of my kids there for this program. It is great!! The kids really get ready for preschool. It is a good break for mom, too. If you have a clingy child, this will help break that habit before preschool begins. The program is nuturing and fun for the kids. The teachers are great!!!

Hi R.,
I also live in Aurora and our children go to Four Winds Waldorf School in Warrenville near Rt. 59 and Butterfield. They have a Parent-Child program for children ages 18 months to 3 years old. My children started a little later (at ages 3.5 and 4.5) in their other programs and are still happily there in their grades program! But if I had known about the school before then, I would have chosen to go to their Parent-Child program. It gives them an opportunity to be with other children and do circle time, story time, crafts etc while it gives the parents an opportunity to still be with them and also share and discuss issues, parenting skills etc. If you want more info, the school's number is ###-###-#### and the teacher is Barbara DuRocher. I believe they still have Open Houses but you can always schedule a visit.
Good luck with your search! A.

If you are anywhere near Naperville there is a great school near the corner of 75th and Naper Blvd called New Day Montessori. They have full and part time programs for ages 2-6. I believe they may also have a program in Oswego if that is closer? Their URL is: www.newdaymontessori.com
My daughter is there now and will go to 1st grade in the public system next year...so, I am transitioning and getting ready for all that entails...?! Good Luck

I am not sure of programs in the area, but must say that 2 is very young for preschool... considering he will be in school for at least 13-17 years of his life, if not more...
He would probably learn a lot more just being home with mom for a couple more years.
