I just found out I'm pregnant!! This will be my first child. I'm about 4 weeks pregnant. I have no idea what OB to choose...I live in High Point. Any suggestions? When do I need to set up an appointment? I'm at a loss for what to do...we have very limited funds. Here's what I HAVE been doing--I'm already a very healthy person (I already take enough folic acid and other vitamins), and I exercise regularly. Please recommend books, OB/GYNs, hospitals, etc. Any information will be much appreciated! :)

Thank you very much!

My OB is Central Carolina OB-GYN on Wendover Ave. in Greensboro. They work out of Women's Hospital. I had both my children with them at Women's. Excellent care! I am sure they will work with you as far as payment goes, but I do not know all the options. I also recommend a copy of "What to Expect When You're Expecting." You can get a used copy for cheap at a children's consignment store such as Mommy and Me on Hwy 311 in Archdale. There is also www.babycenter.com that offers advice and weekly updates on your baby's devleopment. I wish you well!

I go to High Point OB/GYN and love Dr. Mattern there. She is young, very compassionate and extremely thorough. She treats you like a real person, not like a number or like a baby like some OB/GYNs tend to.

Congrats!!

I go to High Point OB-GYN and I like all the doctors, all of them are personable. My doctor is Louk and I love Patel also. All the staff is wonderful. You have to take $200 in on your first visit and then they work out a payment plan according to what your insurance will pay, etc. You won't be disappointed.

I used PineWest OB/GYN here in High Point and would recomend them. They are located at the High Point Regional Hospital which is where I had my daughter. The hospital is great and offers a number of free pregnancy classes.
