1St Birthday Party Venues in Western Suburbs . . . on Short Notice?

My son turns 1 on 12/30. I had no idea people start booking venues 6 months in advance. I find myself in the middle of holiday rush with no where for my son to celebrate. We're thinking of about 80 people -- 25 of which are kids. We'd like something kid friendly and indoor that isn't going to cost us $1K or more. Any suggestions?

So What Happened?

PUMP IT UP!! Thank you so much for all of the suggestions. I was able to book my party at Pump It Up in Schaumburg. It's relatively inexpensive, and all of the kids will have a great time. I'm really excited. Thanks for taking this off of my to-do list!

luigi's in aurora is good for parties. think chuckie cheese on a slightly lower scale lol. not dancing charagcters. no characters at all. but there is a lazer tag, a video arcade and a rock climbing wall. none of which your one yr old will want but older kids will love. they haver party rooms etc. good luck.

A party for eighty people can easily cost a thousand dollars, unless you do everything yourself. When my daughter turned one we rented a clubhouse from a townhome association and brought in pizzas, salad, cake and drinks. We also hired a clown. My daughter is turning six this weekend, and I rented a room from a local park district. I hired a magician and we're just having cake and punch.

I'd check with your local park district. We just had my son's party at the Westchester Park District and it was pretty nice. We rented a room ( they have different sizes depending on the # of people) as well as rented the playroom (which was an additional $20 per hour, but WELL worth it if their will be kids.) It cost about $250 for both rooms for 3 hours, but then we had to bring in decorations, food, etc. The kids had fun playing (the playroom was HUGE) and there was an attendent in their the whole time to monitor the kids. I know you don't need to be a resident to rent it, but it might be a little further than your looking for. Check with your park district and see if they offer anything. It worked out great for us. Good Luck!

There is a wonderful family owned resturant in Melrose Park. I eat there often and have had parties there. Dannys Deli & Cafe in Melrose Park, IL. They work around you budget and if you have a Sunday party it is closed just to your party. Wonderful place, has had wonderful reviews from the papers and media.

We had a great birthday party at The Barn in Willowbrook. It can get pricey depending on the options you choose, but you can keep it realistic and within budget also. They offer a ton of different things to choose from for adults and kids. We had about 100 people - probably 35 kids, 65 adults or so and everyone was happy. You don't have to choose the camel rides!
