1St Baby Born Early, Is It Likely My 2Nd One Will Be Too?
My 17 month old son was born three weeks early. That's just naturally when my water broke. If you were early with your first are you also highly likely to deliver early with your second? Thanks Mommies!

I agree with everyone that each pregnancy is different. I just happen to be one where each of my 3 children came earlier each time. My 1st was 2 days before due date, my 2nd was 9 days before, and my 3rd came 13 days before. Also, my labor was shorter each time I went in (which I didn't mind that). I just say, "Be prepared!"

My 1st was 3 weeks early and my 2nd was also 3 weeks early almost to the date. My water broke at the hospital with my 1st and at home with my 2nd. I think this is probably pretty unusual because it seems all babies come when they are ready. Like the lady said before, if the baby is at 37 weeks, everything should be ok, but I would suggest that you are ready early around the house, etc, "just in case". I did this automatically because I just felt like my second might be early, too. I carried both babies pretty low, so I don't know if that could be the reason. Like the others have said, I wouldn't worry if all is well with your pregnancy. Good luck to you. My second was due Jan 8, and I had her Dec. 18th just perfect for Christmas!! :)

It depends on many factors - any medical reason you were early???

Well my 1st one was 6 wks early and just had sonogram and Dr appt and they sd everything was fine, waiting for baby to turn. I was however Juenville diabetes but only when I was preg. But my water broke the Dr sd it might be bc boys are lower and just pushed. But had to go to NICU for 2 weeks.
Now my 2cd was 4 weeks early, but that time it was planned they did a spinal test to ensure baby lungs were devel enough and with the PG diabetes they took her early. She was fine and got to stay in our room.
I would say be prepared, when I had mine there were alot of babies that I noticed came early. There No gte either way.
The baby just might decide to stay longer. But from my experience just be prepared ealry if your 1st one came early.
Best wishes on your baby !

First let me say I understand totally where your head is right now. My son came at 27 weeks. When I became pregnant with my daughter, we all including the doctor were on pins and needles. Every little twinge or leak was an immediate trip to the labor and delivery floor. When it came close to the date of when I had my son, I was really freaked looking for any sign that I would go into premature labor(my kids were due around the same month)...She held on and was born in August when she was suppose to.
My advice to you would be to listen to your doctor, RELAX, RELAX and RELAX. congratulations

My first baby was born at 30 weeks gestation...that's 10 weeks early. My second was overdue by one week. It's in God's hands.

A.,
Not all pregnancies are alike. All my boys were born within a few to 9 days of thier due dates. Of course, the weirdest part was all 3 were born with the cord wrapped around their necks.
Interesting to say the least.
