1St Anniversary Ideas
Does anyone have any suggestions on any Bed and Breakfasts/ Log Cabins for a weekend? We are on a limited budget, so we don't want to spend any more than $400 for lodging.

I don't have any suggestions for you on your question, I just wanted to tell you that my heart goes out to you on your loss. I cannot even imagine losing 2 children. God Bless you on your son.

What about Starved Rock in Ottawa, IL? They have log cabins and a giant lodge (it's beautiful!) and you would be able to go hiking/biking all weekend. Go to www.starvedrocklodge.com and then click on "Plan a visit" and then on "lodging & packages."
Good luck and I hope you have a great anniversary with whatever you decide to do!

My husband and I have gone to Lake Geneva before - Visit www.lazycloud.com for info on their B&B. Private with fireplace and jacuzzi for two. You can order a full picnic dinner in your room, you just have to check out their website for all the pictures and what they have to offer.
Best of luck!

Galena, IL. Not only will it be a beautiful drive this time of year but they have the lovliest little B&B's. It's a beautiful town to walk around, there's a river and great little shops and restaraunts. Here's a link to Galena info: http://www.galena.org/
Another great idea would be to have brunch at the Signature Room 100+ floors up in the John Hancock building. You can stay at the Drake for $100 a night and then walk to the Hancock building and go to a jazz club in the evening or Navy Pier and a horse drawn carriage ride. That's what hubby and I did the weekend we got married. Loved it! Lovely weekend trip. Have fun!!!
