13 Year Old Boy GIFT Idea?????

Hello Moms! I need your help. My only child is a 4 year old girl and I need a really cool gift for a 13 year old boy (my nephew). He LOVES skateboarding and playing electronic games like: WII, GameCube & DS. He also loves to read and listen to Christian alt. rock music (example of groups: Skillet & Disciple). He lives in Pittsburgh and is coming to visit us for Christmas. And, we're on a very tight budget this year, so we need to keep his gift to around $20 - $35 max. Please share any and all ideas. I have no idea what is considered a neat gift for a 13-1/2 year old boy. Thanks in advance for your help. Many Blessings - L.

What can I do next?

If he likes to read, find out if he has read this series:

The books are "Eragon" and "The Eldest".
They are for young teens and are SO GOOD! I am almost 30 and I have read both. They are wonderfully written by a young man who started writing them when he was a teenager.

You can buy both books in a set and the 3rd book is set to come out soon. You can find them at Barnes and Noble and Target.

Hi L.,

I have a 13 year old boy also. Have you considered a Target or game stop gift card? That way he could pick out exactly what he wanted. You could take him shopping with it while he is visiting. I have three children and they all love gift cards! Good luck and I'm sure he'll like whatever you get him! Also, time permitting, you might consider taking him to the Allen Skate Park to skateboard while he is here. It is free and a favorite among skateboarders. It also has some ramps for bike riding and an outdoor hockey rink.

Merry christmas!

I got my 14 year old niece a Visa debit card from my bank. You can load on whatever amount you want to give. It's cool because they can buy things at the mall, movie tickets, restaurants, wherever they take Visa. There was a $3 charge for my $50 card but it's a real visa card and I know she'll love it!

I have a 13 year old son, and he is more tickled with a GameStop gift card than anything else in the world!

Even $25 will buy, sometimes 2 or 3 used games, so no amount is too small there.

Good luck.

There is an electronic game called Q20, it's under 10 and then there is Rubix Revolution and it's under 20. Both are fun and help pass time. Both are at walmart. Good luck!

Hello. I have a 13 year old son also into the games, etc. I think a neat gift around that price range would possibly be a gift card to Game Stop. You can purchase games for each of those systems in that price range, but in case you may not know exactly what he may or may not already have, this way he could purchase one himself, or possibly accoessories he may need for one of his systems, etc. You could also do somewhere like Best Buy where he would have the option of either a game, or a cd or something like that. It is kind of hard when they are at this age. My son wants an electric guitar this year, and other than that I think I'm just sticking with a gift card in his stocking so he can get what he wants and I don't screw it up! Good Luck :-)

I agree that a gift card would be the way to go. However, if you are looking for something different, get a music CD. I LOVE TobyMac (a Christian rock artist). I would buy his CD for anyone who listens to Christian rock. Good Luck!
