11 Year Old Girl Theme B-day Party
My cousin is wanting a "theme" B-Day party for her 11th birthday. She is leaning more toward a theme of movies or a dog theme. Any suggestions?

We just went to a B-day party last night and it was High School Musical. So much stuff out there to help decorate.

My co-worker did a theme of movies and had each attendee come dress as their favorite movie star. She had a contest for the best dressed. He had the red carpet and everything. Invitation were made on the computer as a movie ticket stub and she gave as treat bags, popcorn boxes with treats in it. Hope this helps.

How about a luau? The dollar tree has some great blow up palm trees, leis, door and wall hangings, and walmart sells cheap tiki torches. You could also make a limbo game out of a broom stick.

since this is my line of work hopefully I can offer
some ideas. *smile
One I have done before and was a LOT Of fun was a
50's theme..although kids of this generation have not
really experienced that time some have watched movies
like grease and oh cant think of the other one....
Have them dress up in poodle skirts, rolled up jeans
and such.. hair in pony tails... make it a project to
learn about the 50's.. what I find the moms really
get into it.. What we did for the party was DANCE...had great music Locomotion, the twist, hand jive.. etc... Hula Hoop contest, bubble gum blowing contest. etc.. The kids had a total ball! Did one party AT the Sonic drive-in and it was so much fun
one of the most fun parties I have ever done. The girls were
up on the tables doing the twist.. ha They had cars
flooding in to see what was going on. ha
We are now offering a Fairy party theme. we bing a fairy pony
for the kids to meet(complete with wings) and of course photos must be taken with him. great party favors!
We come as fairies, complete with wings! We are in the process of geting these really cool bubble wands for our fairy wand and blows really neat bubbles.. you would be surprised.. even 11 year olds still love bubbles is what we have seen.. once they think it is cool with the others... ha.. get each girl one of the
little bubble things from the dollar store think you can get two for a dollar? and you would be surprised how much fun they can all have. We have fairy dust of course...so the
kids love gettig fairy dusted and then they sparkle the rest of the day. We can face paint, do games, can even bring along
a extra pony for pony rides. there are options there on what we can do.
I did one party that was fun.. was different. The girl was totally into rabbits. we did a rabbit party. The mom made it up
sort of like Alice In Wonderland. had a tea party set up for the food area... and we had a rabbit petting zoo.. just rabbits...!
the girls loved it. I had never done that one before and it was
fun. We can make up some rabbit type games to play also?
I am going to be having another joey wallaby comeing with me soon. One party I do when I have one is Outback Party.
A lot of kids are into Bindi Irwin now. I have a fun Aussie party where they get to meet a wallaby joey (she doesnt have a name yet working on that) she will be out of the pouch in about a month - until then I have Sydney who is about to be weaned to the back with the rest of the mob. I breed them and is baby season. I teach them some aussie slang words, hear a dreamtime story (aboriginee story) they get to see some things from Australia, bull roarer, boomerang, didigeroo...
we can play some kangaroo games..they can get a photo taken with
the joey if she is up to it. they cant be too loud when a joey is there so they do have to keep that in mind. This was always
a very popular party! we come in our kakais..outback look.
If they are into shrek....we bring along to the party a donkey and llama and can face paint etc....
We are working more and more with party themes and when someone has a theme we do our best to come in character or bring what may fit with the theme... such as the rabbits etc...
If you come up with an idea run it by me to see what we may be able to do with it!
Hope this helped some?

My daughter just went to a "MOVIE" party...the mom made a red carpet and gold stars for each of the girls. Had a friend come over and do makeup and hair they all had on fancy dresses with boas and heels. Had mom's and sibs come and be the paparatzi taking pictures and screaming for the girls. The mom set up a consession stand with movie popcorn and movie candy. They set up theater like seating and a big screen to watch movies. All the girls had a wonderful time. Good luck

For my daughter's 11 year birthday party last year we did a "Spa Party". I had a couple of the moms help out and we set up stations for pedicures, manicures and facials. I played relaxing spa music and even had a waiting room with teen magazines. We had finger foods and fruit smoothies in the big fancy martini type picnic glasses. After our makeovers we teamed up and made a dress that one girl "modeled" out of newspaper, aluminum foil and duct tape! Then had pizza, cake and presents! It was a BLAST!!!

I have seen some really cute hannah montanna/ miley cyrus birthday stuff in the party stores lately. She may like that. They could get dressed up and do karaoke. Sounds like fun to me
