It's essential that you talk with her pediatrician. I suggest he will refer her for an evaluation.

If you're saying at 10 months she can't sit even with support and can't hold things, she is developmentally far behind. Even if she can sit with support, she is still behind. You need to find out why and how to treat this.

Sounds like you need to get her assessed. A doc can do this and get her in physical therapy.

This is really a question for her pediatrician. She really needs to be evaluated. I would think she would qualify for therapy to help her gain muscle tone and strength.

Did she have a traumatic birth? Has she reached other milestones? I would be concerned she could have cerebral palsy but only a doctor can make a diagnosis.

Best of luck!

Sounds like she could have general issues with muscle tone since she can't hold things or sit. I would speak with her doctor ASAP as she probably needs a full evaluation and possibly physical therapy.

Does she have any trouble eating? I know some kids who had low muscle tone (hypotonia) also had trouble chewing.

You probably have one of those milestone guides. Most can sit well unassisted by now. Talk to your pediatrician.

My kids didn't all make the milestones on time and are fine. But why question it? I would take her in and know if it's a concern. That's what I did. If she needs help, then you will know and be able to provide it.

Our pediatrician recommended something called "The Tiny Love Activity Gymni". It is a mat on which the baby can be placed which encourages her to raise her head to reach objects. Or if she is on her tummy, to move forward and arch her back to reach objects. All this builds core strength.

You don't have to get the super fancy one, but get the one with different colors and toys on it. Amazon always has them on sale.
