10 Year Wedding Anniversary Trip

I'm actually a home based travel agent, I can do some research and see what I can come up with. What about a Cruise? How about Las Vegas? Northern CA is really nice as well....let me know if you want me to start looking into deals for you. Thanks!

I can recommend some spots in the East. My parents live in Vermont and I have visited that area many times and have been able to experience 3 out of the 4 seasons there. Since here in Texas we really can't experience all 4 seasons...just really hot or cold, that part of the country is really great. Around 6 yrs ago we rented a car and drove from Vermont to Maine and stayed at 2 different B & B's. Both are gorgeous, clean and very enjoyable. The first one that we stayed at was called The Pilgrims Inn. It is located in Deer Isle, Maine. Great Apple Pancakes with a beautiful view of the bay. The other is called The Grey Havens. This house is absolutely gorgeous! Awesome sunrises and it is located in or near a state park. You can even that the canoe and paddle to the island that is just across from the house. You have to see it to believe it! Look at their websites www.greyhavens.com and www.pilgrimsinn.com I hope that this helps a little. It is a great place to visit and relax.

Northern California is an awesome vacation locale because there is such a variety of things you could do. Like, fly in to San Fransisco and explore that area a bit (being sure not to miss Sausalito) then you have several choices..... drive south a bit to Carmel-by-the-Sea, Montery Bay area for some beach days (being sure not to miss the 17 mile drive) or drive east a bit for a visit to Lake Tahoe or drive north a bit and visit the wine country.

You'll have a GREAT time.

Have you considered an Alaskan cruise? They're supposed to be really incredible. We just went on a Caribbean cruise this past January and had a great time. Cruises are also so affordable, for all the food you get! The Alaskan one will be awesome if you want some great (and different) scenery, but don't want the beach! It would be super-romantic.

For our 10 yr, we went to Maui and loved it. This time of year watching the whales is just awesome.

NYC was a lot of fun with a broadway show and great food.

Another trip that we loved was to San Francisco and Napa Valley. LOVED that one.

If hubby golfs, try Pebble Beach near Carmel, CA. That is a great treat as well.

Congratulations on 10 years!! That is a long time! I just got married 11 months ago, and we moved here from.... California!! I lived there all my life and it is so beautiful and there are so many things to do!! You can do San Diego, San Francisco, or anywhere in between. I came from wine country near Santa Barbara. If you two are into wine, there are many wine tours with gorgeous vinyards and romantic bed and breakfasts, and you are close to a day in Santa Barbara with fine resturaunts, and can eat on the warf and watch the sunset. We went to Monteray Bay for our honeymoon and loved it. Just let me know if you want any more info on good tours or sight seeing, I have pretty much done it all! :)

A wonderful and secluded summer was spent in Sedona, Arizona. It is a great place of rivers and indian artifacts and red rocks.

Kind of a Grand Canyon without all of the other tourists.

There is also Fort Laramie in Wyoming, the site of Chief Sitting Bulls treaty and then Deadwood if you like old west historical sites, the Black Hills are absolutely amazing.

For adult Fun, mountains and lots to do there is always Tahoe California. The mountains are to die for year round and the casino's are a bonus in accomodations and events.

Congratulations on 10 years! Whatever way you celebrate, I know that being together sharing is the most important part!

I have two places that I love to go visit: San Francisco, CA and Santa Fe, NM. In San Fran there are so many spots to visit. We stayed in the Archbishop's Mansion next to the Painted Ladies and everywhere in town is easily accessible with the easy transit system they have (plus walking!) You can also rent a car and travel around wine country. Santa Fe is fun from a cultural aspect as they have so many wonderful art galleries on Canyon Road and shopping for jewerly that the native American Indians sell. Also, there is a Cantina Laredo where musical "hopefuls" will entertain during your dinner. The churches are beautiful to visit and there are other fun hot spots within the town!

Napa Valley is absolutely beautiful! They have some great places to stay, you can do some wine tasting, they have awesome spas, lots of fun stuff to do! San Francisco is also a ton of fun...there is too much to list there. Also, Monterey, CA is gorgeous. They have an awesome aquarium there, and Cannery Row is amazing! Its where John Steinbeck got a lot of his inspiration from. There is a museum in Salinas, if you're a fan. http://www.steinbeck.org/MainFrame.html All of these places are within driving distance of each other, should you decide to check them all out on your trip!

Also, have you ever been to Lake Tahoe? It is on the California/Nevada border. And, it is just beautiful! The lake is amazing, coupled with mountain views! Incredible! If you venture to the NV side, you can even do some gambling in the casinos. My husband and I were married there 5 years ago at Zephyr Cove in September. Amazing! Emerald Bay is beautiful, you can take one of the paddle boats on a dinner tour there, or just around the lake (with or without dinner, they even have a dancing trip!). You can ride horses up the mountain trails in Zephry Cove...Lake Tahoe is just amazing! We can't wait to go back! This is all in "South Shore", "North Shore" is beautiful, too....we just always have gone to the south shore. Harvey's and Harrah's are good casino hotels to stay at. There is a lot of new stuff since the last time we were there, too!

San Francisco is a great trip, I agree.

Seattle, WA is beautiful in the summer too. You can eat on the pier, visit Pike Place Market, go to Mt. Ranier, there is a Rock and Roll museum there, and other activities.

Austin, TX is a great trip too if you want to stay close.

You could also do a quick cruise out of Houston. A friend of mine left yesterday for Cozumel from there.

Last January my husband and I took a wonderful trip. We flew to San Francisco and spent about 4-5 days there...definitely go spend a night in Napa!! Then we rented a car and drove down the Pacific Coast. We stopped and went to Hurst Castle and stayed the night in this wonderful little cozy hotel on the coast that had a hot tub on the porch overlooking the ocean. We ended up driving down the coast to Long Beach because we had a wedding there we had to go to but you could go anywhere. It was just a neat trip and we really enjoyed how peaceful it was..except hitting Los Angeles in rush hour traffic! :) Hope that helps. If you haven't been to San Francisco, I would 100% recommend it. We are going to try and go back in March.

For our ten-yr anniversary last summer, my husband and I went to Whistler and Vancouver, B.C. in Canada and also spent some time in Seattle. Whistler is where they're holding the 2010 Winter Olympics, but there's plenty to do there in the summer, and you'll love escaping the Texas heat (the highs are in the low to mid-70s). If you like nature, definitely consider this trip. Email me if you'd like some more details on what we did on our trip. It was the best time of our lives--even better than our honeymoon!

For our honeymoon, we went to Monterey, CA for a couple of days then drove up the Pacific Coast Highway to Napa and stayed another few days, then we drove into San Fransisco for our last night before we flew home. It was the BEST trip ever, and I have been to Hawaii, Europe, NYC, and many other wonderful places. It was so nice and relaxing. We stayed in a Bed and Breakfast in Monterey and Napa, then a nice hotel in the city. I just can't tell you how perfect it was. If you like wine at all, you should go to Napa. You don't have to know much about it... just like to drink it! If you do decide to go, I can suggest wineries that have particularly interesting tours and tastings. Let me know. I just can't rave about it enough!!!!! In fact we are going back the next chance we get.

We went to Tennessee and stayed in a cabin up in the mountains, it was beautiful. I loved tennesee. Maybe that's an option. We went to Pigeon Forge and Knoxville. Beautiful scenary.

Not sure if you want lots to do or just an R&R trip, but my husband and I went to Half Moon Bay, CA and stayed at the Ritz Carlton there last year for our anniv. It was amazing. So gorgeous, on famous Hwy. 1, and only about 1/2 hour or so from San Francisco. We've also been to Carmel which is a nice quaint, romantic (but a little pricey) little town. Another great place is Laguna Nigel... CA is pretty great all up and down the coast. Can't beat Nappa if you have any interest in wine tasting! Have fun and CONGRATS on 10 years!

Europe is awesome and if you go in the Fall, you can usually get some great deals. Venice,Italy or Paris, France are incredibly romantic. If you decide on CA, I would definitely recommend San Francisco/Napa Valley or San Diego. If you decide on Canada, the Vancover area is beautiful. In Maine, the Portland area is very nice and you'd only be a 2 hour drive away from Boston.

If you are into outdoor stuff Glacier National Park in Montana and Canada is absolutely awesome!
San Francisco is so romantic with all the stuff to see and then heading to Yosemite or to the wine country would be a great trip.
I know that you said no beach but my husband and I went to Bermuda before we had our little baby. It only took 25,000 AA miles to get there and we skipped the big, pricey hotels and stayed at B&B's. It was awesome because it is an old english colony with loads of history and enough site seeing to keep you busy but yet RELAXING!!! I also got a day or 2 at the beach. We loved it and got around by ferry and motorbikes. Everyone was so hospitable. About an hour flight from New York or Atlanta.
Enjoy your anniversary trip! I imagine those 10 years happen a lot faster than you ever thought. I still remember celebrating every month that first year and now it is almost 3 years!
