10 Month Old Sitting up in Crib Instead of Sleeping

My 10 month old is just now getting really good at crawling and sitting herself up from laying on her belly. As exciting as this is, it's totally ruining her naptimes and she is getting up in the middle of the night a couple times. When I look at her on the video monitor she's sitting up and it seems like she isn't quite sure how to lay herself back down. What do I do? Any suggestion or anyone else have to deal with this?

What can I do next?

We've all dealt with it. It's a natural progression in learning how to get around. She'll put herself down, she's just having fun with something new she's learned. My advice is to stop watching the monitor so much. We didn't know all this stuff was even going on before we had all these devices. As long as she's quiet, she's fine.

Practice..Practice lots of up and down during the day...And then work with her at night on 'laying' down..My son is finally just getting over the 'needing' help stage. For naps and bedtime to get him to sleep, I pretty much prevented him from even getting to the sitting/standing position for the last month and half. Every time he started to get up I gently laid him back down, usually from the sitting position. We would go up and down the crib in this manner until he wore himself out. Now when I take a peak at him trying to put himself to sleep, he's up and down up and down..eventually he passes out w/ his booty in the air..Cutest thing ever :)

It will pass & unfortunately it is a tiring phase for the parents. Some will say just let them stand and scream. My did that for 1.5 hr straight...That's when I went to this method..Hope you find something that works for you

My son (8 months) did the same thing when he first started sitting up. It didn't last very long before he learned how to lay back down. Now he's standing up on his own and doesn't want to lay down. He just yells for me, after a while I go in there and lay him back down. I have to do it a couple times sometimes but he falls asleep after a couple times doing that. She'll get over it soon.

I am dealing with the same thing, only my daughter is now standing up in her crib all of the time (also ten months old). I am battling her for naps during the day and she has been waking up in the middle of the night, which is quite odd.

My daughter is able to lay herself back down, but she just doesn't want to! She will be half asleep when I lay her down and she immediately rolls over, sits up and then stands up at the crib. The only thing I have been able to do is just leave her standing there...She'll start crying and I let her for a little while and usually she wears herself out. Then, I go back in and lay her down, rub her back a little bit and she goes to sleep.

Honestly, I think we're getting to the stage where sleep will be a little off. I think I will have to readjust to her sleeping patterns. Good luck! Let me know if you come up with anything :)
