Hi Moms!
Our little boy will be one in about six weeks and I want to get invites out asap b/c of out of town guests (parents). Does anyone have ideas or suggestions for a place to hold the party? We'd like the kids to have a place to play and run around somewhere in or around Palatine (our house is not conducive to hosting lots of kids and parents.) We're also moving out of state soon so even though it's just his first b-day, we'd like to make it a fun time and have our baby's friends together for a fun-filled day!
Thanks so much!

the palatine park district has a toddler gym you can rent out for one hour and a party room you get for 2 hours (so one hour after the gym) it is super cheap compared to other venues!

Hi E.,

Check out www.kidwinks.com. The Services section lists over 130 places in the Chicago area for kids' birthday parties. Here's the direct link to the list of birthday party places: http://www.kidwinks.com/ForKids/KidsParty/PlacestoParty/
If you become a member (which is free) you can sort this list, or any list of search results, in order of distance from your house.

Kidwinks also has a great Events Calendar, and in the Restaurant Section you'll find a Kids Eat Free Calendar - click on a day to find out where kids eat free. Calendar results can also be sorted by distance if you're member and logged in.

Hope this helps!

J.

Places like Gymboree or Baby Gym (or anything like that) would be great. We went to a kids party there and it was so much fun. The equipment the kids can play on is geared to their little cruising/tumbling selves and the adults have a blast watching the kids.

Hi E.,
I would highly recommend Nibbles Play Cafe in Wheeling. Its not to far from Palatine (on Dundee east of 53). The environment is really pleasant, you can order food and drinks for your guests and let the kids play in the clean and safe play areas right inside the resturaunt. The owner, Kathleen, has party packages with staff and activities for the kids or musicians and other entertainers to bring in if you want. the site is http://nibblesplaycafe.com/ - worth checking out! By the way, I am in the party business and have seen lots of places, and this is a great one!
