1 Centimeter and Bag of Waters *Felt*?

I had my 37 week exam yesterday and my doctor told me that I was one centimeter dialeted and she could feel my bag of waters. She also said the babies head was RIGHT there. I am 37 week and 2 days pregnant with my first, could I possible go into labor this soon! Has anyone been the a similiar situation? Thanks!

What can I do next?

On my 36 week exam I was 2 centimeters dialated and 70% effaced. The doctor told me that he was touching the babies head. I didn't have my son until 2 days before my due date. So you could go soon or it could still be a little while. Good Luck!!

I had my daughter right on her delivery date but I had labor pains for 3 days. When I got to the hospital I was 4 cent. Many babies are born before their due date and many many are really healthy. I one thing that really took us for a loop is that we werent ready .. well as ready as we thought we were. I was released one day before my daughter and we spent no time sleeping instead we were getting stuff all together. You think that you are prepared but man we forgot so many little things. Also take this time to take naps and to relax, the more you are rested the better you will feel. TAKE NAPS! They are great when you are that far along.

Hi R.,

First of, congratulations!!! Unfortunately, nobody can really predict when a baby is going to be born. With my third child, I walked around for TWO weeks being 5 cm dialated. I was REALLY frustrated!!! I thought that at the Dr. visit they would tell me to go to the hospital right away, but it wasn't until two weeks later, that my daughter decided to come.

I wish you the best of luck!!! Just remember each pregnancy is unique!!

Congratulations! It's a wonderful ride. Once you are past 36 wks, you are considered full term(older sis is an OB nurse). When I had my son last year(he was 12 days late, they had to break my water, he never dropped), I followed my OB, as long as she wasn't worried, neither was I. I would advise against any long trips, stick close to home, take it easy and make sure your bag is packed and ready to go! Good luck and Merry Christmas! S.

Like everyone else said, yea, you could go into labor anytime. You could also not do anything for a while. The encouraging thing is you are making progress toward labor. Don't get frustrated, but be ready to go!

Congratulations!

I have my son was 37 weeks and 4 days when I had him I was 2 centimeters when I had my check up 3 days before i gave birth, there is nothing wrong as long as you are past 36 weeks congrats on the birth of your first. it is very beautiful and can be very stressful so try not to worry and take it easy and get enough rest cause once the baby is here that is it

I had my daughter at 36 weeks and 5 days and she was perfectly healthy and 8 lbs 6 oz. Yes you could go into labor this soon. Good luck and let us know what you have.

It's not too early. I was praying to go at 37 weeks! It would be safe/healthy for the baby to come out now. BUT, I also wouldn't keep your hopes too high. Like another lady said, I was dialted at 3 centimeters for 2 weeks before mine decided to come out into the world. Congratulations, and good luck with the little one...enjoy!

it's really not soon!! congrats baby could come at any time!!

my baby was born at 36 weeks 6 days!

good luck!

Yes you can go to labor that soon. 37 weeks is not too early, now i had my daughter at 39 weeks that wasn't early, anything that is before 35 weeks is kind of early. Girl your baby is ready to come out. I just want to know why the doctor didnt keep you your baby is ready to come out. That must be real uncomfortable to you. Here I am 26 weeks pregnant and my baby feels like he wants to come out. This is going to be my third child and third c-section, so i never had a natural birth, adn never will get a chance to expericene one either. i wish you the best and congrats to you. Raising a baby is so hard but very fun
